Our Projects

FIRE SAFE San Mateo County conducts on-the-ground fuel reduction projects across the county every year, focused on reducing overgrown vegetation around homes, neighborhoods, and evacuation routes.

Many of these projects pair agency crews and grant funding with work residents do on their own parcels. Homeowners can plug in through the neighborhood chipper program and our homeowner resources, and communities can propose new projects through the Community Wildfire Protection Plan process.
